
Jorge Leal
Jorge Leal is a Photographer, Filmmaker, Graphic Designer and Director based in Nazaré, Portugal. After finishing art school in Porto, he worked in many different projects as a photographer/graphic designer. Jorge's passion for the ocean and continued pursuit of knowledge brought him to Nazaré. He took part in the first big wave project in Nazaré with Garrett McNamara and made 3 documentaries with the North Canyon Project which put the Nazaré on the world map.
Jorge is currently working on his projects with his authentic approach to storytelling and cinematic approach to filmmaking to tell stories all around the world.

The Biggest Wave In The World
Naza: the locals nickname for Nazaré ; 10: for a decade of big wave surfing history. The exhibition aims to involve the public in a unique experience, to feel the biggest waves in the world through video and photographic images collected over the last 10 years. Jorge Leal, the creative behind the lens has followed from day one the North Canyon
project that put Nazaré and Portugal on the big wave surfing map. His archive contains iconic images, artistic and technically difficult to obtain, that represent a high knowledge of the space.
